Care + Safety

At Atlas + Co, we prioritise your cat’s comfort, safety, and well-being. Our collars are designed for everyday wear - crafted to be durable, stylish, and secure. Follow these simple care tips to keep your cat’s collar in perfect condition.

Caring for Your Cat's Collar

Cleaning: Gently wipe the collar with a damp cloth to remove dirt and debris. Avoid harsh chemicals and submerging the collar in water, as this can damage the leather.

Conditioning: To maintain the leather’s softness and prevent drying, apply a high-quality leather conditioner as needed. Always follow the product instructions.

Inspecting: Check regularly for signs of wear, such as fraying or cracking. If the collar shows signs of damage, it’s time to replace it for your cat’s safety.

Storage: Store the collar in it's storage bag in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight to prevent fading and deterioration.
Note: Our collars are crafted from natural full-grain leather and may develop a light bloom over time. Simply wipe with a damp cloth to restore its original beauty.

Important note: Remove collar prior to using a 'spot-on' flea treatment, and collar should remain off for 48 hours after treatment.

Ensuring Your Cat's Safety

Breakaway Buckle: Every collar is equipped with a vet-approved safety buckle, designed to release under pressure for your cat’s protection. Always check that the buckle is functioning properly.

Proper Fit: Adjust the collar to fit snugly but comfortably around your cat's neck. You should be able to fit two fingers between the collar and your cat's neck. An ill-fitting collar can cause discomfort or even injury.

Bell Attachment: Our collars come with a removable 10mm bell. While useful for keeping track of your cat, always monitor their reaction. If your cat appears distressed by the bell, simply remove it.

Regular Checks: Kittens grow quickly! Check the fit regularly, adjusting as needed to ensure continued comfort and security.

By following these care and safety guidelines, you’re ensuring lasting comfort, durability, and peace of mind for both you and your cat.
